Vineeta Singh, Namita Thapar, Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Piyush Bansal, and Amit Jain are among the six judges in the second season of Shark Tank India, which is hosted by comedian Rahul Dua. Since the beginning of this season, the judges on Shark Tank India 2 have heard several compelling concepts. Pitchers are going above and above to win over the sharks and get their support for their ventures. However, in the most recent episode, pitchers of a particular herbal tea brand went too far in their attempts to win over the judges and were publicly shamed.
The first segment of the broadcast featured a streetwear company, which was followed by a pitcher promising college placements who was successful in boarding four sharks.
Sunil Chandra Saha and Nitesh Singh of Blue Tea pitched their herbal tea line to the panel of judges in the final round. In keeping with its moniker, the pitchers poured the blue herbal mixture into the cups for the pitchers to sample. They offered an investment of Rs. 75 lakhs for 1% stock and referred to themselves as world leaders in blue tea. The sharks appeared to enjoy their concept and inquired about their history in business and education. Vineeta remarked that the brand’s packaging was “zabardast” (wonderful), and its appealing color scheme and various fonts. This was also approved by Aman.
Sharks Shames Blue Tea Pitchers
The pitchers provided instructions on how to gather the blooms and extract them to brew tea. Blue Tea offers online delivery to all American cities as well as to several other nations. As Anupam’s turn came, he added, “You’re making a big claim by declaring you are the first blue tea brand.” He talked about his experiences drinking blue tea and other kinds of tea while residing in the US. To further demonstrate his displeasure, he also said, “You’re doing gimmicks, that’s why I’m calling you out. We’re not here to have fun; we’re here to conduct serious business.” He admitted that if they hadn’t made the bogus claims, he might have invested.
Amit agreed with Anupam and referred to them as “topibaz” for breaking the judges’ confidence. Because she prefers traditional tea, Namita indicated that she did not want to invest due to personal preferences. Except for Aman, none of the judges offered a deal. The ultimate agreement reached by him was for Rs. 50 lakhs for 3% equity and Rs. 25 lakhs in loans with 12% interest.
Anupam Mittal Regrets Investing In Few Deals
Anupam Mittal, a judge on “Shark Tank India” and the creator of Shaadi.com, recently disclosed that he had spent Rs 5.4 crore on the show. The billionaire regrets a few of his deals, though.
Anupam recently discussed the investment he made using FOMO in an interview with Tanmay Bhat and Rohan Joshi. According to him, his transaction is quite “powerful” in terms of the quantity and caliber of deals. He said, “You know, I’m talking to some of the top businesspeople, and my issue is that I don’t have the time and money to invest in everything I think is excellent.”
Anupam stated that he did not enter the show “knowing” that he would invest money in this and that notion while talking about those investments that he made and afterward regretted. He claimed to have had “FOMO” (fear of missing out). Anupam claimed that fellow investors on “Shark Tank” had a competitive mindset. “You’re no longer thinking clearly,” he said. “When you put money into it, that’s the only way it becomes thrilling. I consequently ended up making multiple bad decisions due to my desire for excitement and FOMO.”
