Mumtaz, a Bollywood actor, made her first-ever television appearance on February 5 while filming for Indian Idol Season 13 after 50 years. She was joined on stage by Dharmendra, and the famous screen couple danced, romanced, and shared memories from the past. Mumtaz has discussed her short-lived relationship with Shammi Kapoor in several interviews. She disclosed yesterday that the actor had proposed to her and the reasons she had declined. After one participant sang “Aajkal Tere Mere Pyaar k Charche,” the show’s host Aditya Narayan praised Mumtaz for her on-screen connection with Shammi Kapoor. “Come right to the point, I understand what you’re saying,” Mumtaz said the host. “Shammi Kapoor had asked me to marry him, but I was too young. I didn’t want to settle down and give up my career. Yes, I do occasionally miss him,” she said.

Dharmendra also reflected on his past interactions with Shammi Kapoor and said that he misses them and longs to repeat the experiences.

Performing the romantic song Main Tere Ishq Mein from their film Loafer, Dharmendra, and Mumtaz grabbed control of the stage. Actress Mumtaz also discussed how well she got along with Rajesh Khanna. She said that despite Rajesh Khanna’s reserve and lack of open social interaction, Mumtaz got along with him because they had worked on numerous films together. Mumtaz continued by saying how nice the actor was. She also remembered her first day working on the Ram aur Shyam set when a frazzled Mumtaz had to shoot the opening shot at Dilip Kumar.
Mumtaz seemed stunning in an all-black dress that included gold bangles. She took the stage to dance to the songs as the contestants performed popular songs from her films. She mimicked the dance from the movies with her movements.
Regarding Mumtaz
Mumtaz, who is originally from Iran, had her acting debut in Sone Ki Chidiya in 1958 when she was just 11 years old. She later appeared in several successful movies alongside Rajesh Khanna, Shammi Kapoor, and other well-known actors. After a 13-year absence, she returned to the big screen in 1990’s Aandhiyan before quitting. In 1974, she got married to businessman Mayur Madhvani.
