Bollywood’s seasoned actress Tabu has been making headlines lately for her phenomenal performances in two of the biggest blockbusters of the year. The actress was a part of two bigwig Hindi films this year. Moreover, both her films dominated the box office and did splendidly well in numbers despite the after-pandemic effect. Tabu was earlier seen in the Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. She played a prominent role in the movie which was a super-duper hit. Now, she is ruling the theatres as Meera Deshmukh in the Ajay Devgn and Akshay Khanna starrer Drishyam 2.
In a candid chat, Tabu confesses that she doesn’t understand the money or the business aspect of the films. She is an artist and she only knows to perform. The versatile Indian actress is currently going through a purple patch in her prolific career. This post-pandemic year, we saw many big-budget films failing at the box office. However, this was not the case for Tabu’s films. Both her movies Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Drishyam 2 have become bigwig blockbusters of the year. For the unversed, both the films that had Tabu in common have entered the ₹200 crore club.

Talking about the recent success the 52-year-old actress says, “I am overwhelmed with the response to both of my films. I honestly don’t have any words as we didn’t think that our films would do such great numbers. It is heartening to see a film with this combination doing so well on the big screens. It also was not like the films were promoted highly. Only that both were big brands.”
When asked about the numbers, Tabu says, “I don’t think about all this, I am terrible at these calculations. I can’t understand or analyse the business side. People have had these conversations in front of me, that it is out on an OTT, and who will go to watch the Hindi version now? Dekho, jab tak film release nahi hoti, band muthhi hoti hai. I am terrible at making assumptions about any film. Something worked like magic, which put all those discussions and dialogues to rest.”
