Emraan Hashmi, who is currently garnering critical acclaim for his role in Amitabh Bachchan’s recently released film “Chehre,” has already begun filming for his next project. He’ll be seen in the Malayalam version of the mega-popular film “Ezra” shortly. Emraan Hashmi is stepping into Prithviraj Sukumaran in the Hindi version of the Malayalam horror flick Ezra, as everyone knows. Earlier this year, there were rumors that this film will be released exclusively on Netflix.
Emraan Hashmi Starrer Ezra Sold To An OTT Platform For 36 Crore
According to a person close to the situation, Emraan’s film, named “Dybbuk,” will be released exclusively on Netflix. It was reportedly sold for Rs. 36 crores to an OTT platform. According to reports, the filmmakers had planned to distribute the film in theaters but decided to release it now to maximize their profits in the present pandemic situation. The film is set to be released this year.
The film, directed by the same South director Jaya Krishnan, is a supernatural horror. Prithviraj Sukumaran and Priya Anand played key roles in the original film Ezra. The story revolved around Priya’s purchase of an antique box from a trader. Priya and Ranjan thereafter begin to experience strange occurrences.
Emraan started filming the Hindi version in Mauritius in 2019.
Meanwhile, Emraan Hashmi recently discussed his role in Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s next film Tiger 3. He told ETimes, “I am neither confirming nor denying being a part of the film. Right now, all I want to talk about is Chehre. Enjoy the gym images until then.”
Salman and Katrina are presently in Russia. They are filming for ‘Tiger 3’s foreign schedule.
