TMKOC’s Creators land in legal trouble
According to an ANI report, Asit Kumarr Modi, the producer of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, has been the subject of a charge filed by Powai Police. Jatin Bajaj, the executive producer, and Sohail Ramani, the director of operations, have also been added to the case. A complaint made by one of the show’s actresses resulted in their booking under sections 354 and 509 of the IPC. So far, no one has been arrested. “The FIR has been registered against Modi and the investigation is ongoing,” a police official revealed.
A person arrested under Section 509 may be sentenced to 3 years of simple imprisonment along with a fine because it is a bailable offense. As a non-bailable offense under Section 354, the accused cannot be released on bail without the court’s approval. In addition to a fine, the penalty for this offense can include imprisonment for a term of up to seven years as well as a term of up to two years.
