Even though it’s not the first priority, according to actor Sudhanshu Pandey, looking good helps boost your confidence. It’s crucial to comprehend, according to the actor, that maintaining a decent appearance also benefits our mental health. For the unversed, the popular character Vanraj Shah is portrayed by the Indian model, singer, and actor Sudhanshu Pandey in the series Anupama and Anupama: Namaste America. In his career, he has made appearances in 22 Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu films.
The actor says, “Consciousness about appearance and weight has a significant impact on one’s confidence because when you know you look fit and good, your confidence naturally rises. One plainly faces both physical and mental health problems if they are unable to take care of themselves and their body. It could give you a kind of complex or make you feel a little depressed and possibly inferior to others. The competition in our industry is always fierce, therefore an actor must take care of themselves to stay mentally and physically fit so they can do their duties. In addition, he or she should, in my opinion, be in good physical and mental health.”
Sudhanshu Pandey:
The actor claims that because there are so many shows and films about body shaming. It has decreased and more people are aware of it. But, he adds, “It depends on what kind of body shaming it is. It’s important to realise that not everyone is aware of their appearance. As it’s a very individual decision, they might not give a damn about any of these. Even if they are overweight or hefty, they may be content with the way they appear and feel in their own flesh. So I suppose there is now some awareness. There are some people who have learned to live contentedly with who they are and to feel good about themselves despite having health difficulties that prevent them from losing weight quickly or doing other things like that.”
He further adds, “Celebrities, meanwhile, are frequently seen wearing makeup everywhere. Yet, the actor claims that this may not be required. It’s a personal choice as I said. If someone is constantly self-conscious about their appearance, they will have to wear cosmetics when going to the gym or shopping. I suppose that’s a pretty personal decision, and I don’t see it that way. I don’t believe you need to wear makeup whether you go to the gym or go shopping if you are emotionally and physically healthy and feel good about yourself. Just be who you are.”
Sudhanshu Pandey gets candid:
He responds, “There’s an ancient adage, an English proverb that says, ‘Your first impression is the last impression,” when asked if he believes that we will ever reach a stage where body shape, weight, and physical appearance won’t be the first thing that comes to our mind when we meet someone. He went on to say, “If you start basing your decisions on that, I suppose everyone must always appear healthy and attractive. Yet, I don’t believe that everyone wants to meet someone who always looks nice or is physically healthy. Many people, in my opinion, are now conscious of the reality that appearance is not ultimately important.”
The actor concludes by saying, “When it comes down to it, what matters is the heart. And when you get to know someone, you may find that the fittest appearing individual has a really ugly heart. Whilst a chubby/fat person may have the most beautiful heart. Thus, it has nothing to do with a person’s appearance. I believe it is crucial that we all adopt that mentality because, if you have a wonderful, lovely heart, everything else falls into place. Having stated that, everyone should prioritise maintaining a healthy bodily and mental state.”
