Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga movie review:
The beginning of Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga features quick cuts between the present and times eight hours earlier, eight months before, and back again. And while this makes for a disorganised start to the movie, it also feels intentional. The purpose is to confuse and unbalance viewers, much like a passenger trying to navigate an extremely turbulent aeroplane’s aisle. Because Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga can better disguise the allure of its main robbery and numerous double-crosses if we’re off balance, if we can’t immediately link the different parties in play, or even how they might know one another.
The story for this movie was written by Siraj Ahmed (Ray) and Amar Kaushik (Stree, Bala, Bhediya). Yes, this is not a writing team that one would often associate with a thriller. In authoring two of Ray’s most outstanding episodes (Forget Me Not, Bahrupiya), Siraj acquired a lifetime fan, while Amar has produced movies like Stree & Bala to his credit. The Amar Kaushik school of humour is absent from this, with the exception of a bomb joke. Off-screen, these two polar opposite personalities create a plot that largely relies on a single twist without creating a solid foundation for it.
Watch it! Although it assembles a very entertaining heist movie from pieces that don’t always fit together perfectly. Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga is kept on course by the electrifying chemistry between its leads. All things considered, Chor Nikal Ke Bhaga is clever yet lacking; it is intelligent in some contemporary contexts but foolish in others.
