In Akshay Kumar’s forthcoming film BellBottom, Lara Dutta plays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. Fans began to question why they couldn’t see Lara Dutta in the teaser soon after it was published on Tuesday. She did, however, confirm that she portrays Indira Gandhi in the film, which also stars Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi, during the trailer premiere event. “If someone can predict my role, then I will take all of their family members free to the theaters,” Lara stated after inviting the media to guess her role.
Lara Dutta On Playing Indira Gandhi In BellBottom
Speaking about her role in the film, the actress Lara Dutta asked the media to guess her role. “Okay, so you saw me in the trailer. In the film, I portray Mrs. Indira Gandhi. That’s me on the left. It just needed a phone call for them to tell Lara that a film was being created and that Indira Gandhi’s character was being cast. Before I ever heard the script, that was all it needed. But, of course, when you’re playing someone as legendary as she is, you have a lot of responsibility,” she said.
She continued saying, “As you are all aware, the film is about a hijacking that occurred during her reign. Given the dramatic circumstances that were happening, she was incredibly calm and unaffected by drama. As a result, it was crucial to represent her in that light. I had a fantastic experience. It was the result of a lot of effort and investigation. But it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for which I am grateful.”
Akshay Kumar also spoke on setting the way for cinema releases following the epidemic at the trailer premiere. “We’re crossing our fingers; we still have 17-18 days to go for the release. It’s impossible to predict what will happen.”
BellBottom is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh, Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and Nikkhil Advani and directed by Ranjit M Tewari. On August 19, the film will be released in theaters.
Kangana Ranaut is also set to play former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in a political drama directed by Sai Kabir, which was meant to be directed by him. Kangana Ranaut revealed in June that she will be directing the film.
