Shahid Kapoor will appear in the Ali Abbas Zafar-directed film Bloody Daddy later this week, namely on June 9. While the film’s trailer and teasers, which will have a direct-to-OTT release, have made quite an impression and even drawn in the crowds, we’ve heard that making the movie was rather expensive. In fact, if the rumours are accurate, Shahid Kapoor demanded a staggering Rs. 40 crores to appear in the movie.
Considering the current uncertain situation, a person close to the project comments, “Given the amount cited as Shahid’s compensation, it was unexpected to hear. He did, however, charge between Rs. 36 and Rs. 40 crore for Bloody Daddy. Shahid’s brand worth has remarkably been stable throughout a difficult period for the industry when most stars have been cutting their earnings.”
Shahid Kapoor:
According to a source, “Surprisingly, despite investing a sizable quantity in the film’s production, Jio Cinema’s higher management appears to be very optimistic about the project. Bloody Daddy belongs to a severely underrepresented genre, particularly in Hindi films. When compared to traditional Hindi films, the movie’s style and feel, action scenes, aesthetics, and plot are quite new. This, together with Shahid’s excellent performance under Ali’s direction, has given Jio Cinema confidence.”
Jio Cinema is certain that the investment was the right one even though there isn’t an official confirmation of the compensation Shahid received for Bloody Daddy just yet. As for the movie itself, Bloody Daddy was co-written by Siddharth-Garima, Aditya Basu, and Ali Abbas Zafar and is supposed to be an action thriller. For the Shahid Kapoor-starring film, director Ali Abbas Zafar said they are following their instincts since “Bloody Daddy is designed in such a way that it can be taken forward.”
For the unversed, Shahid performs in Hindi cinema is Tshahid Kapoor. He was first known for playing romantic roles but has since taken on roles in action films and thrillers. He has won numerous accolades, including three Filmfare Awards. Click here to get the latest Bollywood gossip and news.
