Storyline:
An action thriller called Bloody Daddy was made in 2011 and is an adaptation of the French film Nuit Blanche. Sumair, a member of the Delhi police’s Narcotics division, is portrayed by Shahid Kapoor. Sumair breaks into a car transporting cocaine, setting off his most difficult and eventful night. In any case, the bag he stole is taken, and the owner, a drug kingpin by the name of Sikander Chowdhary, holds his son Atharva hostage. The plot of Bloody Daddy is about how Sumair locates the bag holding the narcotics and frees his son.
Bloody Daddy movie review:
Shahid Kapoor is HOT in this film! Most importantly, Shahid, but also Ronit Roy, Rajeev Khandelwal, Sanjay Kapoor, Diana Penty, Vivan Bhathena, and the rest of the actors deserve recognition. You would remain engrossed and on the edge of your seat thanks to Ali Abbas Zafar’s direction. Speaking of Shahid, his portrayal of Sumair is both fantastic and natural. Shahid gives the character his whole attention, taking you right to the heart of the matter. His Sumair is sweet, perceptive, cunning, and BLOODY!
The finest of the best are all represented in the film’s ensemble cast. A Ronit is portraying Sikander for you. He’s not the stereotypical lunatic bad guy that we typically see in Hindi action flicks. He is composed and in complete control. You’ll be most terrified by that aspect of his personality. Ronit has received the most substantial phrases in the movie after Shahid, one of which has to be “Sikander ka spelling C se shuru nahi hota!” At that point, you start to quietly whistle and wish you had done it in front of a crowd in the theatre.
Performance:
In Bloody Daddy, he gave a nuanced performance. Throughout the entire movie, you can feel Sumair’s thoughts spinning as he tries to swing the odds in his favour. The drug boss Sikander is brilliantly portrayed by Ronit Roy. Though he saves his darker aspect for the end, he is naturally evil and humorous. Sikander is a drug lord as well as a successful businessman. You won’t be able to take your eyes off the actor thanks to his well-balanced performance. Sanjay Kapoor and Mukesh Bhatt are an incredible comedy combo that brings a fresh perspective and hilarious new jokes.
For his fans, seeing Rajeev Khandelwal on screen is a treat. For all action fans, his sequences with Shahid Kapoor are a delight. In this case, Diana Penty plays an upright policewoman. You’d want to see more of Vivan Bhathena, who plays Ronit’s younger brother in the film. Shahid Kapoor’s portrayal of a parent is the narrative’s heart and soul. Your heart is pulled by his feelings, his sense of helplessness, and yet his sensitivity and awareness.
The actor is putting more demands on himself. Unexpectedly, there is laughter in Bloody Daddy as well. Fortunately, it is subtle and not jarring. The blows are delivered in passing yet nonetheless land strongly. Thank God, the action in the movie isn’t over the top. It’s sleek, realistic, and a little gory, but hey, blame the genre. The movie moves at a slow, poisonous pace, but it’s really not a big concern. However, there are several places where the tempo seems to slacken before picking back up. Even a slight trimming would have been debatable.
Storyline:
Despite being almost flawlessly baked, Bloody Daddy has a few minor defects. When you think it would tie up the loose ends in the end, there is none. Some passages appear extended. It was necessary to emphasise Sumair’s relationship with his nasty adolescent son, but their relationship was overemphasised. The movie needed to develop its characters, yet this seemed to be lacking. Shahid is simply growing sexier with every appearance on film, thus one could need to overlook the flaws since other components are in order.
The movie also makes a strong argument about how the pandemic caused a sharp rise in crime rates across the nation. Killings, inflation, and uncertainty all become constants. The movie begins with a post-second wave situation and uses small pieces to illustrate a message. You determine if it was successful or not.
Final Verdict:
With blockbusters like Sultan, Tiger, and now Bloody Daddy, director Ali Abbas Zafar, who is renowned for having perfected action thrillers, has undoubtedly brought elements from his speciality to the audience. Cinephiles seeing the movie without knowing the specifics would recognise it as a Zafar film within the first 20 minutes because of the tension-building and the fact that most of the action is saved for the second half.
Bloody Daddy is worth watching, preferably multiple times. Bloody Daddy doesn’t let you down at all, despite the lower standards brought on by Bollywood’s remake age. Instead, it transports you on an exhilarating rollercoaster trip that, by the time the film is through, will have you cheering and finally push you back into the queue for another ride. Rajeev Khandelwal, Ronit Roy, and Shahid Kapoor are all top-notch.
