Self-realization might occasionally take time. The same thing happened to Megha Ray. Her life might make a terrific movie story, from being a talented student to becoming an engineer, working a well-paying job, and finally quitting everything to become a full-time actor. The actor discusses her journey to being an artist. She portrays Radhika in the upcoming Nilanjana Purkayastha and Herumb Khot production Sapnon Ki Chhalaang serial.
She says, noting that this insight didn’t occur to her until much later in life. The actress comments, “Although I excelled in physics and was a high student, I also enjoyed art. I was also taking dancing classes. Those who are academically inclined typically regard their passion for art as a pastime. But ultimately, when I got older and started working for a corporation, I understood that art was what I wanted to do for a living and that science was just a pastime for me,”

The pressure of societal expectations then came as a result of the realisation. She describes how she overcame it gradually. She adds, “Deep down, I wanted to be an actress, but I kept it to myself because it’s very unusual for someone who is doing well in school and at work to abruptly stop and pursue something like this. Everyone in my family is involved in education, and nobody has even the slightest connection to the business world. Yet, I realised that if I didn’t say anything, I would regret it. I put my foot down and said that this is the field I want to enter and refused to pursue higher education, such as an MBA, which was expected of me. My parents were stunned, but I handled it well.”
Actress Megha Ray concludes by stating, “I didn’t just drop the bomb; I built it up gradually. I was making sure I wasn’t financially burdening them. Over the weekends, I also engaged in fashion blogging and earned some money from it. When it was safe and I started earning money from brands, I left my job.”
