According to music director Puneet Dixit, the film 1920 Horrors of the Heart film opening song has a fascinating backstory. He continues by saying that the title of the song was actually given by producer Mahesh Bhatt. He claims, “The unique aspect of this song is that as I and Bhatt Sahab were seated for a media launch interview, a question concerning Sadak 2 was posed to Bhatt Sahab, and Bhatt Sahab declined to respond. “Woh kahani phir kabhi.” This is the first song to originate from that country in 1920. Papon sang Woh Kahani Phir Kabhi, and Shweta Bothra wrote the song.”
Puneet Dixit continues, “Usually when we sit with Bhatt sahab for readings and have conversations with him, most of us get the punchlines, good lines for the song. We use those phrases to create half the song! Bhatt Sahab and Vikram Bhatt Sahab deserve all the praise. He used this song, which is incredibly lovely and moving. This song contains both modern and older-feeling elements. People claim that this song makes them think of the past because something in Bollywood has stopped occurring recently. I am therefore thrilled with this song and am also optimistic that it will be a success.”
1920 Horrors of the Heart film:
Both Mahesh Bhatt and Vikram Bhatt were present on the day the song was being recorded. As a result, according to Puneet, the song really came together wonderfully. “When they are there, the atmosphere changes. They have a tremendous amount of energy. They have a powerful aura, and another wonderful quality is that just by being around them, we are energised. We receive input, the director’s vision, and the producer’s vision when they arrive while we are recording. Both are outstanding filmmakers. Thus, having them offers a great deal of assistance and education. And because I’m constantly eager to learn, I always do so in the company of outstanding individuals. It excelled. I insisted that they attend because they share memories and experiences when they do,” he said.
Despite the horrific theme of the movie, according to Puneet, he prioritised feelings when choosing the music. He adds, “It’s a mother and daughter’s emotional and terrifying story. I was very explicit about the types of songs that should be included, and although though I wrote Lori with horror in mind, it is still a really emotional song. Lori is being sung by Shreya Ghoshal. While reading the story, I understood it was a really emotional tale of a mother and daughter. There are a few frightening elements, but overall, this is more of an emotional tale than a horror movie.”
when discussing the response to the song and teaser, he comments, “The feedback is brilliant and I’m sure it’s going to be great because the song is good. The song’s official release date is June 6, and the teaser was just recently posted. They seem to be enjoying it here, and I’m hoping the audience will share their opinion.”
