Roshan Kapoor, who plays Maahir in the Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 serial, says he felt the strain of his performance at first. The actor is portraying a humorous character. And Roshan confesses that making people laugh is difficult. He confesses, “Because it was my first show with Balaji, there was some pressure to play a funny character well.” It’s a crucial role that necessitates a lot of screen time. Yes, there was pressure since making someone laugh is difficult. That punch and timing should be yours. There may be technological difficulties, or if someone fumbles, you will need to do another take. So, once again, comic timing is required, and it becomes difficult. So, before going to bed, I watched some comedy, such as Kapil Sharma’s show.”
The actor further adds, “I really enjoy his show. I also saw Hum Paanch, a film starring Ashok Saraf Ji and Laxmikant. I’ve also seen Johny Lever sir’s films, and if I didn’t have much time, I’d watch videos on YouTube for 5-10 minutes to prepare myself. I used to read the script and then come up with my own lines. I used to talk to the director about it, and he always said yes. My character’s name is Maahir, and he is a very humble figure that knows very little about the world.”
Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 serial:
He continues to say, “My character is preoccupied with himself and enjoys eating. He used to be on the side of whoever made him eat some nice meals. Also, he gets along well with everyone in the family. Maahir adores Pihu and wishes to marry her (Pooja Banerjee). Pihu also expresses her affection for Maahir, but he scolds and taunts him. Our wedding was about to take place, but Raghav (Ranndeep R Rai), Prachi (Neeti Taylor), and Angad (Leenesh Mattoo) had other plans. People adore this persona. I’m enjoying it as well, and I’m excited to go on sets.”
Meanwhile, the actor claims that working in show business has always been a dream of his and that he has always desired to do so. He adds, “I’ve always wanted to be an actor, and my father encouraged me to pursue it. He always said he’d make me a hero. During school’s annual days, I used to perform plays and receive prizes and acclaim. I used to be really joyful and believe that, yeah, I can perform. My pals used to play cricket, but my other friends and I used to shoot.”
Roshan Kapoor:
Roshan further adds, “We used to pretend the building brick was a camera. And one of my pals would place it on his shoulder while I acted. It was a lot of fun. When I was a kid, I used to tell my parents that I wanted to be a hero, and at the time, there was a show on television called Hero Number One, starring Govinda Ji. I used to watch the show and tell myself that I wanted to be just like him. Govinda Ji is an inspiration to me. I still watch his films today. Also, I also did theatre for four years. I acted in a Sardar Udham Singh play as Sardar Udham Singh.”
He explains, “Jallianwala Bagh was the title of the drama. This play taught me so much. I had a number of auditions, but I wasn’t receiving the ropes I was looking for. In the meantime, I worked on TV commercials and digital ads, and when I got a call for Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2, I auditioned and was cast.”
Final Word:
However, Roshan recognises that this industry is unpredictable, adding, “Nobody knows what can happen. I’ve seen people swapped overnight, as well as personalities slain or killed off. I believe in flowing with the flow and living in the present moment. I just want to get my work done. You will get good work tomorrow if you do good work today.”
He concludes with, “I want to do challenging characters. My comedic zone is strong, but I’d like to try some more hard roles, including a lead. I’d also want to play negative or dark characters. I’ve only been in the profession for three years, and the biggest difference I’ve noticed is that auditions are now much easier. Everything else appears to be the same.”
