Sapnon Ki Chhalaang serial- The producer Nilanjana Purkayastha claims that her own experiences served as inspiration for her newest program, Sapnon Ki Chhalaang. She claims that the programme perfectly captures her battle with the business.
The producer says, “I was raised in Guwahati, Assam, where I was born. Mumbai was the city I chose to be my “Karmabhoomi” since I had always wanted to be a storyteller. My parents, however, were hesitant and concerned when I planned to move to Mumbai alone in the 1990s. I felt as though I was pursuing an impossibility. I had no media experience, no family in Mumbai, and no industry ties. In 1996, I travelled to Mumbai after persuading my parents that I should follow my goals. My own journey served as a lot of the inspiration for Sapnon Ki Chhalaang.”
Speaking of her experience in television, she explains, “I worked as a freelancer on commercials and TV shows while earning my Post Graduate Diploma in Film and Television from Xavier’s Institute of Communication. I applied to several businesses after finishing the course. And in 2000 I was hired as an entry-level employee in the programming division of Star Plus. I learned the majority of what I know from working there, and by 2006, I was in charge of programming for Star Plus. With my debut program, Chandragupta Maurya on Imagine TV, I made the switch to producing in 2011,”

She further adds, “The response has been very heartening. Because a lot of people have connected with the character of Radhika and the premise of a young girl coming to Mumbai for her career and the life of a young single girl in the big city. The promo has generated a lot of buzzes and the response has been wonderful.”
She explains what the show’s USP is by saying that it tells the tale of how young girls build a life and a home for themselves in a huge city without getting married. The protagonist of the show travels to work, finds a home with girls her age, and lives with roommates. The producer adds, “The cast has given stellar performances,” describing the actors as “remarkable.” really authentic and natural. The young girls are a breath of fresh air because they bring so much enthusiasm to the scenes. Everyone works diligently and enjoys acting in sequences that are considerably different from those in typical TV shows.”
She continues, “I always work to produce shows that are different from whatever the fad is. And also accurately portray actual life. I work really hard to make strong female characters for my shows. I believe that my standard for myself is to try something new and to develop characters and shows that motivate viewers to perform and be better.”

Nilanjana explains the goal of her production company as follows: “The goal of Invictus T Mediaworks is and always has been to create distinctive content. To create content that is unique and risky in terms of storytelling. We are a platform-neutral business that is inspired by what is going on in the world. Moreover, we consider our efforts to have been effective if our stories may motivate even one person. We take pride in the fact that all of our shows have moved and inspired a lot of viewers. Which motivates us to keep raising the bar.”
She oversaw the Sapnon ki Chhalaang writing team in the meantime. She comments on the subject, stating, “Writing Sapnon Ki Chhalaang has been really easy because I and my writing team – Srinita Bhoumick, Faizal Akhtar, Pallavi Mehta, Shashank Kunwar, and Pranjal Saxena – relate to this subject and have been writing from our own life experiences. Because this is the kind of work we all want to do and because television rarely allows writers to write what they have actually experienced, it has been a cathartic experience for all of us.”
