Movie Review:
A simple story that is subtly yet bluntly executed by the director. The movie starts with Amrita the character played by Tapsee, where she is in a corner crumbled as she thinks how her whole life has come in a dilemma as just a few hours ago she was happy with the room full of guests but now that one slap has put everything in question.
This is one of the movies where even the supporting characters shine out with the lead. The talented cast has done a tremendous job in acting and performing their characters. Talking about Tapsee Pannu she has bought Amrita to life through her acting skills. She has done justice to the well-written screenplay and story.
The film “Thappad” is said to be a tight slap on the patriarchy. Amrita’s fight tells us how the whole society including family, relatives, and friends gets involved in a crashing marriage only to tell the woman to understand and adjust. The movie is an odyssey of Amrita, a young, devoted and family woman, the end will tell us will she fight back to the patriarchy or give in to be a submissive wife and forget everything.
Thappad has all the ingredients that are needed to make a super-hit film.
Overall BollywoodHush recommends you to see this eye-opening movie over the weekend with your family.
