We barely have time to take care of our bodies because our daily lives are so hectic. Our fitness is thrown out the window because of this. Actress Madalsa Sharma from Anupama discusses the value of physical and mental self-care through exercise. “Today’s youth are more career-oriented, ambitious, and workaholic than previous generations. Boys and girls decide to pursue education and careers from a young age. People enjoy playing indoor games for recreation. Social networking and video games are also popular. Outdoor and physical activities are no longer prioritised. The good news is that, as she points out, sports are increasingly being pursued as a career.”
The only sport a typical individual participates in is watching it on television. While schools do urge students to participate in sports, many of them end up spending more time playing on their smartphones, computers, or laptops.
Actress Madalsa Sharma:
She agrees and continues, “TV has brought international entertainment into our living rooms through mobile phones, tablets, and other devices. More options are available. TV puts you right in the middle of the action. I feel that if we fix a mandatory time in schools and at home for physical exercises and teach children the importance of a healthy life, things will get better. Zoom, replays, and more recently, pre- and post-match analysis, have significantly increased the appeal of watching sports on television.”
Regarding how to reinstate practising sports in our lives, she says, “We should teach the younger generation the importance of physical activities and how it helps.” Because of this, sports are now a very lucrative career. Madalsa loved playing ‘I Spy’ as a kid. “Even now, it’s still my favourite game,” she admits. It triggers many memories for me. I Spy is a fun and enjoyable family guessing game that can be enjoyed by kids of virtually any age.”
The actress concludes, “Since it is a call-and-response game, you can play it anywhere. And whenever you have at least two players because you don’t need any special equipment, accessories, cards, or boards. I Spy can be used to teach young children about letters, names, forms, and objects, as well as to enhance perception and observational skills. When you’re on a road trip, waiting to board a train, airline, or bus, on vacation with your family, in a waiting room, when you’re out shopping. Or if you’re searching for something to do with friends, it’s also a fun way to pass the time.”
